CONNECTING EXTERNAL DEVICES

Auxiliary Input Jacks

This system includes two auxiliary inputs, one on the front labeled 

AUX IN

” 

and other at the back labeled 

LINE-IN

”. 

These

 

inputs

 

allow

 

you

 

to

 

connect

 

external

 

audio

 

sources

 

and

 

play

 

the

 

audio through the speakers of the system. 

You may find it convenient to connect equipment you use regularly (such as a 
turntable) to the rear line inputs and equipment you use occasionally (such as
iPod shuffle or another MP3 player) to the front input. If devices are connected at 
the same time to both inputs, the front input is automatically selected as the 
audio source. To listen to the audio from the rear input you must disconnect the 
front input.

To listen to the external audio source:

•  Connect the external audio equipment to the AUX IN 

jack on the front panel or the LINE IN jacks on the 
rear of the system as shown below.

•  Select the “

AUX

 

mode using the 

FUNCTION 

button. Audio plays through 

the system

'

s speakers.

Line Output Jacks

This system includes a pair of line outputs on the rear panel labeled “

LINE OUT

connect an external amplifier or recording device as shown below.

Connecting a Subwoofer
This system includes a subwoofer output jack on the rear panel labeled 

SUBWOOFER OUT

You may connect an external, powered subwoofer using 

a single RCA-type cable as shown below.

OPTICAL DIGITAL OUT
You may use the OPTICAL DIGITAL OUT connector and an optical cable (not 
included) to connect a multichannel external amplifier with optical input. This 
optical connection will allow you to take full advantage of the Dolby Digital 
information encoded on some discs.
