SECTION 7: SERVICE
Troubleshooting
Motor & Electrical
Symptom
Possible Cause
Possible Solution
Machine does
not start, or
power supply
breaker
immediately
trips after
startup.
1. Incorrect power supply voltage or circuit size.
2. Remote control not working or batteries are
dead.
3. Infrared transmission is blocked or remote too
far away.
4. Power supply circuit breaker tripped or fuse
blown.
5. Wiring broken, disconnected, or corroded.
6. Infrared receiver at fault.
7. Control panel/remote ON/OFF button at fault.
8. Circuit board at fault.
9. Motor or motor bearings at fault.
1. Ensure correct power supply voltage and circuit size.
2. Replace batteries (
Page 27); point remote directly at
control panel. If broken or damaged, replace remote.
3. Make sure infrared receiver on control panel is not
blocked; use remote closer to filter.
4. Ensure circuit is free of shorts. Reset circuit breaker or
replace fuse.
5. Fix broken wires or disconnected/corroded
connections.
6. Inspect/replace if faulty.
7. Replace control panel/remote.
8. Inspect/replace if at fault.
9. Test/repair/replace.
Machine
stalls or is
underpowered.
1. Motor overheated.
2. Run capacitor at fault.
3. Extension cord too long.
4. Motor or motor bearings at fault.
1. Clean motor, let cool, and reduce workload.
2. Test/repair/replace.
3. Move machine closer to power supply; use shorter
extension cord.
4. Replace motor.
Machine has
vibration or
noisy operation.
1. Motor or component loose.
2. Motor mount loose/broken.
3. Motor fan rubbing on fan cover.
4. Motor or motor bearings at fault.
1. Replace damaged or missing bolts/nuts or tighten if
loose.
2. Tighten/replace.
3. Fix/replace fan cover; replace loose/damaged fan.
4. Test by rotating shaft; rotational grinding/loose shaft
requires bearing replacement.
Symptom
Possible Cause
Possible Solution
Loud,
repetitious
noise, or
excessive
vibration
coming from air
filter.
1. Air filter is not mounted properly and
wobbles.
2. Impeller fan is damaged, loose, or
unbalanced.
3. Motor mounting loose.
4. Motor fan housing is dented, causing motor
fan blade to hit housing.
1. Stabilize air filter (
Page 19).
2. Unplug air filter, inspect impeller for dents, bends.
Replace impeller if any damage is found.
3. Make sure all fasteners on motor mount are tight.
4. Replace motor fan housing.
Filter does not
adequately
collect dust; poor
performance.
1. Filters are dirty/clogged.
2. Air filter not positioned properly.
1. Clean filters; replace with new filters if performance
does not improve (
Page 26).
2. Locate filter in area with good air circulation and away
from any obstructions (
Page 18).
