Troubleshooting

Symptom

Machine does
not start or a
breaker trips.
1. Emergency Stop button depressed/at fault
(G1066Z).
2. Incorrect power supply voltage or circuit size.
3. Power supply circuit breaker tripped/fuse
blown.
4. Machine circuit breaker tripped (G1079R).
5. Wiring open/has high resistance.
6. ON/OFF switch at fault
7. Start capacitor at fault.
8. Thermal overload relay has tripped.
9. Contactor not energized/has poor contacts.
10. Centrifugal switch at fault.
11. Motor at fault.
1. Rotate Emergency Stop button to reset. Replace if at
fault (G1066Z).
2. Ensure correct power supply voltage and circuit size.
3. Ensure circuit is sized correctly and free of shorts.
Reset circuit breaker or replace fuse.
4. Reset circuit breaker on machine (G1079R).
5. Check/fix broken, disconnected, or corroded wires.
6. Test/replace.
7. Test/replace.
8. Allow to cool, then reset; replace.
9. Test all legs for power/replace if at fault.
10. Adjust centrifugal switch/contact points; replace if
necessary.
11. Test/repair/replace.
Machine
stalls or is
underpowered.
1. Workpiece material not suitable.
2. Feed rate too fast (G1066Z).
3. Excessive depth of cut.
4. Sandpaper roll loaded up.
5. Sandpaper roll worn or damaged.
6. Machine undersized for task.
7. Belt(s) slipping or pulleys misaligned.
8. Motor overheated.
9. Motor bearings at fault.
10. Run capacitor at fault.
11. Centrifugal switch at fault.
12. Motor at fault.

2. Relocate/shim machine; tighten mounting bolts.
3. Tension/replace belt(s) (

4. Tighten mounting bolts; relocate/shim machine.
5. Secure pulley on shaft or realign (

6. Fix/replace fan cover; replace loose/damaged fan.
7. Test/repair/replace.
8. Adjust centrifugal switch/contact points; replace if
