Calibrating Depth
Scale
The depth scale can be calibrated or "zeroed" to
make sure the cutting depth shown on the scale
matches the actual cutting depth (per pass).
To calibrate the depth scale:
1. Set the outfeed table height as described in
Setting Outfeed Table Height.
2. Place a straightedge across the infeed and
outfeed tables.
3. Adjust the infeed table until it is level with the
outfeed table, as shown below.
4. Using a screwdriver, precisely adjust the
scale pointer to “0”.

To calibrate depth scale:
1. DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2. Place straightedge across infeed and outfeed
tables (see
Before beginning, set outfeed table height as
described in
Setting Outfeed Table Height.
5. Use motor pulley to rotate cutterhead until
one insert is at TDC (its highest point during
rotation), as shown in
Figures 48–49.

6. Use outfeed table handwheel to set outfeed
table so insert barely touches straightedge,
as shown in
7. Tighten outfeed table lock so outfeed table
will not move during operation.
8. Re-install cutterhead guard, fence, and
cabinet rear access panel.
