Adjusting Disc Contact

Refer to Figure 153 and Figure 154

1. Raise the drill and install lift cylinder locks.
2. For 20P and 25P Series, remove the side gauge

wheels

on the row unit in need of adjustment.

3. Remove the bolt

retaining the opener disc

one side. Carefully remove the disc. Do not lose the

hub components and spacer washers

. Make

note of how many spacer washers

are between

the disk and the nut bar



When the bolt is fully removed from the disk, a dust

cap

will be loose.

4. To reduce the spacing between the discs (the normal

case), move one spacer washer from the inside

the outside

of the disc. Do not discard any

spacers. They will be moved to the inside upon

eventual replacement of a completely worn out

blade.

5. Re-assemble and check disk contact.

To adjust scrapers:
1. Loosen nut

2. Slide scraper

toward gauge wheel

until scraper

touches tire.

3. Slide scraper away from wheel leaving a

in (3 mm) gap at

4. Rotate scraper left and right around bolt, making

sure it cannot touch tire if bumped in field. If it can

touch tire, back scraper away from wheel until it

cannot.
