Electrical safety
o
Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, stoves, and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electrocution when your body comes into
contact with the earth (ground).
o
Do not expose power tools to rain or moisture. The risk of electric shock increases when
water enters a power tool.
o
Always hold the power tool by its insulated gripping surfaces when performing any
operation where the fastener may contact concealed wiring or its own cable. Fasteners
that come in contact with live wires can energize exposed metal parts of the power tool
and electrocute the operator.
Personal safety
o
Be attentive, pay attention to what you are doing, and act reasonably and responsibly
when operating the power tool. Do not operate power tools when you are tired or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A single moment of inattention when
operating power tools can result in serious injury.
o
Be sure to wear your personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Protective equipment for the appropriate conditions, such as a dust mask, non-slip safety
shoes, hard hat or hearing protection, reduce the risk of injury or its severity.
o
Prevent unintentional starting. Make sure that the switch is in the off position before
connecting the tool to the mains or battery, picking it up or carrying it. Carrying power
tools with your finger on the switch or turning on power tools where the switch is already
engaged increases the risk of an accident. Remove the adjusting spanner and spanner
before switching on the power tool. Leaving a spanner or adjusting spanner on a rotating
part of the power tool can cause serious injury.
o
Do not lean too far forward. Always maintain firm footing and balance. This allows proper
control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
o
Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing
and gloves away from the moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery and long hair can get
caught in moving parts.
Use and care of power tools
o
Do not use excessive force with the power tool. Use the right power tool for your job. The
right power tool will do the job better and safer at the speed it is designed for.
