cal, a special system is activated to reduce
heating overshoot, such that the preset tem-
perature can be obtained within a range of
plus or minus 5
°
c.
This system switches the heating on and off
repeatedly as the preset temperature is ap-
proached. Therefore, with this type of heat-
ing the sound of the relay switching on and
off repeatedly is normal and is not indicative
of a fault condition.
4.6 ALARM MESSAGES
POOR AIR FLOW (AL1)
This alarm is only activated when the card is
configured to work with gas heating.
When the pressure valve in the chimney
opens for 2 seconds or more, the buzzer is
activated for 1 minute and the display reads
“AL1”.
+
In this case, the heating is switched off.
Check fan direction (arrows indicated on the
motor), if you have just installed the ma-
chine, or the exhaust system (if the alarm
stops when you disconnect the gas exhaust
pipe on top of the machine, the exhaust is
probably too narrow or blocked).
The alarm is not activated during the first 10
seconds after starting the fan, in order to let
the air flow settle.
The alarm is cancelled automatically when
the pressure switch returns to its normal
position or when the machine is switched
off.
SAFETY PLATE (AL2)
When the hand protection system is acti-
vated (safety plate), the buzzer is activated
for 1 minute and the display reads “AL2”.
+
The machine switches off automatically.
CAUTION: this device is for user safety.
Do not override this safety device in order to
avoid serious injury to the user!
The alarm is cancelled by restarting the
machine or switching the machine off and
then on again.
FAN THERMAL RELAY (AL4)
When the fan thermal relay trips, the buzzer
is activated for 1 minute and the display
reads “AL4” :
+
The fan and the heating are switched off but
the machine stays on.
The alarm is automatically cancelled when
the machine is restored to normal conditions
(thermal relay closed) or when the machine
is switched off.
Usually, this alarm is caused by dirt block-
ing the fan.
SPEED REGULATOR ALARM (AL5)
When the speed regulator alarm trips, the
buzzer is activated for 1 minute and the
display reads “AL5” :
+
The machine switches off automatically.
The alarm is cancelled by restarting the
machine or switching the machine off and
then on again.
This fault condition may be due to roller
motor overload, machine jamming or blocked
roller.
NO FLAME (AL6)
This alarm is only activated when the card is
configured to work with gas heating.
When the burner is on or being ignited and
the “no flame” condition occurs, the buzzer
is activated for 1 minute and the display
reads “AL6”.
+
The command for ignition remains active
and the machine remains on.
To try to re-ignite the burner, press the keys
+ and – simultaneously after the alarm stops.
When the gas device cancels the fault indi-
cation, the alarm is cancelled likewise. If
this reset fails, the alarm is activated again.
Then this may owe to one of the following
fault conditions:
- No gas supply: Check that the manual gas
shutoff valve is open.
- The gas pressure is insufficient or the type
of gas is incorrect (see the installation sec-
tion)
- Faulty ignition spark plug: replace.
To cancel the alarm without re-igniting the
burner, stop the machine by pressing STOP.
OVERHEATING OR DISCONNECTED
SENSOR (AL7)
If the temperature sensor is not connected or
broken, or if it detects a temperature above
210
°
C continuously for 2 seconds, the buzzer
is activated for 1 minute and the display
reads “AL7”.
+
The machine will still work and the alarm
can be cancelled by switching the machine
off.
5. PERIODIC SERVICING
Note: all maintenance must always be
carried out when the machine is inopera-
tive, the roller is cold and the circuit
breaker is in position 0.
5.1 DAILY: BEFORE START-UP
(MACHINE COLD AND ROLLER
MOTIONLESS)
Male sure that the thermostat probe holder
touches the roller and inspect that there are
no foreign objects in between the two.
For this purpose, press on the thermostat
probe holder by hand.
5.2 EVERY WEEK: BEFORE START-
UP
Clean the inside surface of the thermostat
probe holder. For this purpose, rotate the
thermostat probe holder by 90 degrees and
remove any fibres or plush that may be
attached to the thermostat probe holder by
hand.
Return the thermostat probe holder to its
initial position.
Remove the top panel (which is fixed by two
screws, use a male 6-sided wrench of 5 mm).
Check for the presence of galons between
the pressing roller and the braid guides.
If braids are missing, replace using similar
new braids (use special high-temperature
braids).
Note: the braids are to be fitted loosely in
place when replaced. Do not stretch them,
since this may cause untimely breaking.
5.3 EVERY 200 HOURS
CLEANING:
Rotate the thermostat probe holder by 90
degrees and make sure that it is clean; then
