Chapter 8: Freedom 375

Operation Of Optional Features

Outriggers

Outriggers allow you to spread the fishing lines being trolled from your boat and decrease the

chance of entanglement.

•

Advantages

Advantages of outriggers include offering bait throughout a larger area behind the boat,
placing bait out of the wake zone, automatic drop back following strikes (which allows for
fish to completely accept bait), and a reduction in unnecessary twisting action
characteristic of artificial bait.

For installation and use, reference the sheet included in your Owner’s Packet.

•

Care And Maintenance

-

Outriggers should be washed with freshwater, mild soap, and a soft cloth. Never use
abrasive cleaners on outriggers.

-

A periodic waxing is suggested if your outriggers are exposed to salt water. The wax will
provide a protective coating and seal the pores of the metal. A non-abrasive high quality
marine or automotive wax is recommended. Before storage, clean and wax the
outriggers.

During assembly, grease all threads, bolts, and tubes where one section is inserted into
another. Disassemble and regrease all applicable surfaces on an annual basis.

Stereo Upgrade

The stereo upgrade option adds a subwoofer to the standard stereo system as well as a larger

amplifier and upgraded speakers. An 80 amp circuit breaker for the amplifier is located in the aft
rigging compartment. If there is power to the stereo but no sound coming out of the speakers, check
to see if this circuit breaker is tripped. To reset, slide the yellow trip lever down into a vertical
position. The speakers are equipped with blue backlights that are controlled by the “Cockpit Lights”
switch on the helm switch panel.
