Release accelerator pedal immediately and fully
depress clutch pedal. Release clutch pedal. Trans-
mission will shift from Lo Lo to Lo when gears are
synchronized. Accelerate to appropriate travel speed/
engine RPM.
Continue with step 15.
If conditions permit travel in Lo,
proceed with step 11.
For all conditions:
With parking brake applied, depress clutch and
move gear shift lever to neutral.
Start engine and wait until carrier air system reaches
125 psi.
Release parking brake and hold carrier in position
using service brake.
If conditions require travel in Lo Lo,
proceed with step 4.
Move range preselection lever down to select Lo
gear range.
Move deep reduction button forward to select Lo Lo
gear range.
Depress clutch pedal, depress countershaft brake
button and then move shift lever to Lo Lo gear
position. Release countershaft brake button.
Release clutch pedal evenly while depressing
accelerator pedal smoothly. Carrier will move
forward in Lo Lo gear range.
When ready to shift to next higher gear (Lo), move
deep reduction button to rear to select Lo range
position.
Depress clutch pedal, depress countershaft brake
button and then move shift lever to Lo gear
position. Release countershaft brake button.
Release clutch pedal evenly while depressing
accelerator pedal smoothly. Carrier will move
forward in Lo gear range.
When ready to shift to next higher gear (1st gear),
using upshift, double-clutching method, shift from
to Lo gear to 1st gear. When appropriate, continue
upshifting to 2nd 3rd and 4th gears.
Check to be sure deep reduction button is in rear
position to select Lo gear range.
