Installation
System Accessories
WARNING
A bleed-type master air valve (E) and a fluid drain
valve (H) are required in your system. These
accessories help reduce the risk of serious bodily
injury including fluid injection, splashing in the eyes
or on the skin, and injury from moving parts if you
are adjusting or repairing the pump.
The bleed-type master air valve relieves air trapped
between this valve and the pump after the air is
shut off. Trapped air can cause the pump to cycle
unexpectedly. Locate the valve close to the pump.
Order Part No. 113–269.
The fluid drain valve assists in relieving fluid pres-
sure in the displacement pump, hose, and gun.
Triggering the gun to relieve pressure may not be
sufficient. Never connect a secondary hose or
spray gun to the fluid drain valve. The fluid drain
valve is used only to help relieve fluid pressure in
the displacement pump, hose, and gun.
Air Line Accessories
Install the following accessories in the order shown in
Fig. 2, using adapters as necessary:
Air line lubricator (not shown)
Install downstream from the air regulator (D) and
bleed valve (E) to provide automatic air motor
lubrication.
Bleed-type master air valve (E)
Install downstream from the air regulator (D), and
in a place that is easily accessible from the pump,
to relieve air trapped between it and the air motor
when the valve is closed (see the Warning above).
Air regulator (D)
Install close to the pump, but upstream from the
bleed-type master air valve to control pump speed
and outlet pressure by adjusting the air pressure to
the pump.
Air line filter (C)
Install in the main air line (A) to remove harmful dirt
and moisture from the compressed air supply.
Second bleed-type air valve (B)
Install in the main air line (A) to isolate the
accessories for servicing. Install it upstream from
any other air line accessories.
Fluid Line Accessories
Install the following accessories in the positions shown
in Fig. 2, using adapters as necessary:
Fluid drain valve (H)
Install so that it points down, and the handle points
up when it is opened, to relieve fluid pressure in the
hose and gun (see the Warning at left).
Fluid filter (G)
Install as shown in the Parts drawings on pages 12
through 14 to to filter harmful particles from the
fluid.
Spray gun (K)
Install on the end of the fluid hose (J) to dispense
the fluid. The gun shown in Fig. 2 is an airless
spray gun.
