The US Boxes are placed so that the Foils are in the optimal position in the centre of the US Boxes.
- further forward :
the Foil rises earlier and you need more pressure over the front foot, the Foil is more
manageable.
- further back :
the Foil is easier to control but less maneuverable and flies later.
To start with it is best to move the Foil backwards and forwards little by little to find the optimal setting.
ADVICE ON FOIL PLACEMENT
SPECIFIC PRECAUTIONS FOR THE
ALLVATOR FULL
CARBON
FOIL
Unlike the
Alu ALLVATOR
Foil, the
FULL CARBON ALLVATOR MONOBLOC
Foil will not be subject to
galvanic corrosion. You are thus finally freed from the tedious assembly/disassembly/rinsing of the material after
each session.
However, there are still some basic rules to be respected to preserve your Foil over time :
• Use an Anti-Corrosion lubricant in the threads of the screw threads to preserve the metal inserts.
• Remember to check the firm tightness of all the elements of the Foil before each use. Check the condition of
the screws and renew your screw kit at the first signs of wear.
• Protect your Foil. Do not beat it up or have impacts. Pay attention to the trailing edge of the Mast: sharpened
it can easily be damaged if it is not protected.
• Don’t navigate with a Mast with an apparent weakness that has shown itself after significant stress to its
structure (collision, impact in the shorebreak...). Unlike an aluminium Foil, Carbon does not twist. It breaks and
can then become extremely injurious. If you have the slightest doubt about the condition of your equipment,
contact us by email or ask the advice of a professional around you.
• Disassemble your Foil once in a while for complete maintenance or before a long period of non-use.
• Store your Foil in a dry place away from light.
• Do not leave your Foil exposed to the sun. Do not be surprised by the rapid rise in temperature of the Carbon.
Dark in color, it absorbs light and heats up very, very quickly.
• Sudden and significant temperature variations will cause irreversible damage to the structure of your Mast. So
be careful with the material stored in the car in the sun or stored in front of a heater.
