8.1 FLOODING
8.1.1 OPENINGS IN THE HULL
The inner hull of Goldfish 28 Tender is pressure tested to ensure stability and buoyancy even if the boat
is flooded. Therefore, it is of vital importance that any modifications that will lead to puncturing of the
inner hull is communicated to and carried out by Goldfish Boat AS.
WARNING
To minimize the risk of flooding of cargo holds; always keep the hatches properly
closed when under way in rough weather or at planing speeds.
8.1.2 BILGE PUMPS AND BAILING
The Goldfish 28 Tender has 1 bilge pump, located behind the electrical control panel in the aft
compartment beneath the rear seat.
The primarily function of the bilge pump is to drain water from the recess. The flowrate of the bilgepump
is 37 litres per minute. It is a fully automatic bilge pump featuring a low profile design for narrow bilges
or small spaces. It has solid state switching - no moving parts - so is unaffected by wave motion.
The bilge pump can be turned on manually by pressing the bilge pump switch on the instument panel.
When the bilge pump switch on the instrument panel is turned “off” it is automatically operated.
NOTE:
Even if the main battery switch is in the OFF position the pump will automatically pump out water
from the bilge.
WARNING
The bilge pumping system is not designed for damage control.
SAFETY PRECAUTION
Check the function of the bilge pumps at regular intervals. Clear pump inlets from
debris.
