SYNPTOM DESCRIPTION
CAUSE
REMEDY
GROOVE JUMPING
The phono cartridge
jumps during listening
sessions
•
The turntable is a rigid
unit and need to be insulated by
vibrations including footfall
problems you have, in example, a
shaking floor.
•
Insulate the turntable
with air suspend devices or use a
WALLSHELF as turntable board
support.
MOTOR HEATING
The Motor warms up
too much
•
AC synchronous motors
as the ones used by Goldenote
normally warms up to 50° Celsius
without creating any problem
MOTOR NOISE
The Motor produces a
low scraping noise
during playing
•
The pulley’s shaft slightly
touches the motor gold plated cover
•
Gently lift it up a bit
unscrewing the hex bolt of the
pulley
The Motor produces a
buzz noise during
playing
•
The 3 stainless steel screws
of the gold plated motor cover are
too tighten
•
Unscrew them enough to
let the motor spins without
making noise, they need just to
be very gently screwed to the
motor cover
OIL POORED FROM
BRONZE BEARING
Oil drops come out the
bottom Platter Bearing
when the Platter
Spindle is inserted
•
The super high pressure
created by the strict tolerance of
the Bearing/Spindle system can let
some oil drops come out from the
bottom of the Platter Bearing
•
Clean it up, the oil will
never comes out again once the
Platter spindle is perfectly
positioned into the Platter Bearing
SPINDLE (of the Platter):
INSERTING THE
PLATTER SPLIT SPINDLE
The Spindle does not
fit into the Platter
Central Hole
•
•
Unscrewing the tip, split
the 2 pieces Spindle and fit the
bottom part of the spindle into
the platter through the gold
plated weights side, clamp the
Spindle tip into the above side of
the platter screwing it strongly
using a metal pin to get into the
tip hole
SPINDLE/BEARING (of
the Platter) NOISE
The Spindle makes
noise during platter
spinning
•
The Platter Bearing/Spindle
system are new and they need a
break in time to sweep out all the
internal unwanted particles
•
After 150/200 hours
playing the turntable is broken in
SPINDLE (of the Platter):
TIP OF THE DIAMETER
The Records hardly fit
into the Platter Spindle
Tip
•
Goldenote Platter Spindle
Tips have a 7,2mm of diameter that
is the recognised international
standard but many records are
wrongly moulded
•
Sorry you need to enforce
the record into the Platter Spindle
Tip
SPEAKER HUMMING
PROBLEMS
The speakers hum
when the turntable is
connected to the
system
•
The Turntable CAN NOT
makes any noise hearable into the
speaker by itself
•
Eventually a tone arm
cable problem can occur; please
check other ways out
TURNTABLE (THE) DOES
NOT START WHEN THE
TURNTABLE IS
SWITCHED ON
When the turntable is
switched on it does not
start automatically and
the motor makes a
vibration
•
The Belt is too slack and
does not produce the necessary
friction with the pulley
•
•
The 3 stainless steel screws
of the gold plated motor cover are
too tighten
•
Unscrew them enough to
let the motor spins without
making noise, they need just to
be very gently screwed to the
motor cover
