If a problem occurs, or if your Pipetman needs
to be recalibrated, send it to your Gilson repre-
sentative.
TEST FREQUENCY
• Functional test:
Leakage tests should be performed daily.
• Quick check:
Perform the “gravimetric test” for four sam-
ples, this is usually sufficient to control the
accuracy and roughly estimate the reproduc-
ibility. It should be performed at least monthly.
• Routine control:
To control accuracy and reproducibility, per-
form the gravimetric test for ten samples. This
test should be carried out quarterly.
7. MAINTENANCE
Pipetman 8X200 is solidly constructed to
provide exceptional performance and long-
term trouble-free service, provided proper
pipetting techniques are used.
The piston seal ( Fig. 3C ) is designed to withstand
extended wear; however, damage to a piston
(
Fig. 3B ) may impair the seal and cause leakage.
If either situation occurs, the damaged nozzle
assembly must be replaced.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Possible causes of leaks or incorrect sampling:
1) Cracked nozzle: Remove the liquid end cover
( Fig. 1H ) and inspect the nozzles ( Fig. 3A ).
Replace if necessary.
