The quality of Gilson Diamond Tips guarantees
the accuracy and precision figures specified in
Chapter 1 . The use of inferior quality tips will
seriously degrade the performance of your
Pipetman.
D200 Gilson Diamond Tips
These tips are used for volumes between 2 µl
and 200 µl and to calibrate Pipetman 8X200.
•
They have level marks at 20 and 100 µl which
allow you to quickly check the volume.
•
They have the Gilson emblem engraved on
their collar, ensuring that you have genuine
Gilson product.
•
They may be autoclavable at 121°C for 20
minutes at 0.1MPa.
5. RECOMMENDATIONS
PIPETTING GUIDELINES AND PRECAUTIONS
Consistency in all aspects of pipetting proce-
dure will significantly contribute to optimum re-
producibility. Pay particular attention to:
• Consistent aspirate/dispense rhythm while
pipetting.
• Consistent speed and smoothness of action
when pressing and releasing the push-button.
• Consistent push-button pressure at the first
stop.
• Consistent immersion depth of all tips.
• Pipetting angle of 20° maximum from the
vertical.
• When aspirating, if air bubbles are seen in any
of the tips, dispense the liquid into the original
vessels, check the tip immersion depth (2-4
mm) and pipette more slowly. If a bubble ap-
pears again, eject the tips and use a new set.
