Troubleshooting

Problem

Cause

Remedy

The stem moves with difficulty
or jerky.
The actuator switches off
automatically.

Malfunction in actuator.

Follow the instructions in the operating

The stuffing box packing
affects the stem lift.

Slightly loosen the stuffing-box screw.
Replace the stuffing box packing if it
keeps affecting the stem lift.

The flowrate is too small.

The stem lift is affected by
foreign matter.
The nozzles are dirty or clogged
by foreign particles.

Rinse the installation.
If necessary disassemble the equipment
and clean the component parts.

During operation loud noises
are audible.

The nozzles are dirty or clogged
by foreign particles.

The stuffing box is leaking.

The stuffing box has not been
tightened enough.

Tighten the stuffing box screw.
Make sure that the stuffing box does not
impair the movement of the stem and
that it does not leak.

The stuffing-box packing is
