The terminal resistor is used in the following cases. 

Case 1 : In case

s where

 the control cable between a camera and 

a controller is very long (1:1 

c

onnection) 

If the communication cable length is very long, the electrical signal can 

bounce at  the  termination  point.  This  reflected  signal  causes  distortion

of the original  signal and  the  camera  can go  out  of  control.  In  this 

case,  the  terminal  resistor on  both  sides  i.e.  camera  and controller

should be set to ‘ON’.   

Case  2  :  In  case

  multiple  cameras  are  connected  to

a 

controller.

For similar  reasons to the above,  the  terminal  resister  of  the 

controller and last camera should be set to ‘ON. The last camera means

the  camera  farthest  in  cable  length  from  the  controller.  Do not turn

on  the  terminal  resistor  of  all  the  cameras  on  the  same 

communication cable.
