10. Settings
1) Ethernet
By default, the RP Series is configured to obtain IP addresses automatically via DHCP server. This means
that in most cases you would simply plug-and-play the unit.
A. Connecting the device to the ethernet accessories
(1) Plug the ethernet accessories(ethernet cradle, 4 slot ethernet cradle, ethernet multigender) into the
RJ45 connector on the back of the ethernet accessories.
(2) Plug the ethernet cable into the network.
(3) Slide the Ethernet switch to the ON position
(4) Insert the device into the terminal well.
(5) Check the box to Turn on Ethernet. When an Ethernet connection is established the status icon
at the top of the screen
B. Ethernet menu options
Menu > Settings > Touch Ethernet > Touch +
(1) Statac IP
- Select Static IP under Connection Type, and then input the IP address and any additional
information based on you network configuration.
(2) Proxy Settings
- Input the Proxy host name and Proxy port. If required, designate when to bypass the proxy.
Menu > Settings > Touch Ethernet > Touch
(3) Advanced Ethernet
- Stay Awake : Keep the device awake while Ethernet is connect
- Etherent MAC address
- Ethrent IP address
2) Security
Use this Security settings to set a lock screen and change settings to secure your device.
Menu > Settings > Security
A. Screen security
(1) Screen lock
- None : The screen is unlocked at all times. When you press the Power button, the Home screen
appears.
- Slide : Drag the lock icon and release to unlock.
- Pattern : Draw a pattern to unlock.
- PIN : Enter a PIN to unlock.
- Password : Enter a password to unlock.
(2) Screen lock option : When you set the pattern, PIN, or password lock screen, the following options
appear.
- Make pattern visible : Tap and select the checkmark to make the pattern visible when they are
drawn.
- Automatically lock : Tap to select the length of time the device waits before turning off the screen
and locking itself
- Power button instantly locks: Tap and select the checkmark to set to enable the Power button to
lock the device instantly
(3) Owner info
- Show owner info on lock screen: Tap and select the checkmark to display the owner information
on the lock screen. Then tap and type text to display. If you do not select the checkmark, the
input field will be deactivated.
