ADVANCED FEATURES
Power Save Mode and Video Fine Adjustment
The CAT5-1600A system has two advanced controls which are operated via
controls normally hidden from the user on the underside of the Receiver. These
controls allow activation / adjustment of two features:
1. Power Save Mode: Auto Power Save Mode powers down the units when a video
source is no longer connected and resumes power when video is reconnected.
Always On Mode is the other possible option, in which power is always active.
2. Video Signal Fine Adjust: Adds more precision when used in combination with the
front panel trim pot controls to correct color variations due to differing CAT-5 cable
types. (Please see pages 6-7 for more details on the front panel controls).
Advanced functions are adjusted using controls concealed underneath the chassis
of the CAT5-1600A Receiver (see diagram below). To adjust the settings, remove
the strip of metallic tape on the underside of the CAT5-1600A Receiver (at the
location opposite the two VGA connectors). Within the opening there are two (2)
DIP (Dual Inline Package) Switches and a small rotating trim pot control. DIP Switch
1 controls the power saving behavior, while the Trim Pot control is used to fi ne tune
video to correct color. DIP Switch 2 is not used.
To set Auto Power Save Mode on, move DIP Switch 1 to the OFF position, using a
small pointed object such as a screwdriver or a toothpick. To set Always On Power
Mode, move DIP Switch 1 to the ON position.
To use the Video Fine Adjust, rotate the control in the fashion described on page 7
for trim pots, taking care not to force the rotation if resistance is encountered. For
best results, use this control in tandem with the front panel trim pot adjustments.
