CONNECTIONS
AUX OUTPUT
The AUX OUT jack connects the output of the
instrument to external audio equipment such as a
keyboard amplifier, stereo sound system or mixing
console.
Please Note: To avoid damaging the speakers,
ensure the volume level is set to minimum before
connecting to all external devices.
CONNECTING AN MP3 PLAYER
The AUX INPUT jack receives audio signals from an
external audio source such as a smartphone or MP3
player and mixes them with the instrument signal,
allowing you to play along with your favourite
songs.
Please Note: Adjust the level of the aux signal on
your external device.
USB AND MIDI CONNECTIONS
Use a standard USB cable (not included) to connect
the keyboard to the USB port of a computer and
transfer MIDI information. Piano performances can
also be saved onto the computer.
Use a 5 pin MIDI cable (not included) to connect to
the MIDI input of a compatible external device to
transfer MIDI information. The SDP-4 can then be
used as a MIDI controller.
USING BATTERY POWER
Ensure all batteries are inserted correctly, as indi-
cated by the +/- polarity markings. Replace all the
batteries at the same time. Do not combine old and
new batteries and do not mix battery types, as this
can cause overheating, fire, or battery fluid leakage.
Remove the batteries from the instrument if it is not
to be used for a long period of time.
SUSTAIN PEDAL
An optional foot pedal (not supplied) can be con-
nected to the SUSTAIN input and, when pressed,
will cause the key sounds to decay slowly, as if they
were being held down.
CONNECTING A PEDAL UNIT
An optional 3 pedal unit (not supplied) can be con-
nected to the pedal socket on the underside of the
SDP-4, allowing the traditional Soft, Sostenuto and
Sustain pedal functions to be used.
This pedal unit can be purchased with the wooden
stand for the SDP-4 at Gear4music.com.
