4.3 System Set-up
To
interact
with
on
‐
board
firmware
requires
the
GBX24
to
have,
as
a
minimum,
a
control
terminal
or
HyperTerminal
connection
present
on
the
serial
COM1
port
and
an
Ethernet
connection
on
the
out
‐
of
‐
band
Ethernet
management
port.

the
relevant
parts
for
ease
of
getting
started.

In a development environment, minimize the number of network connections and avoid connecting
the switch to the main network.
4.4 Power-up
As
the
GBX24
runs
through
its
boot
sequence,
the
LEDs
light,
and
the
serial
terminal
should
display
the
initialization
progress.
