Provided your phone company offers FSK voice messaging service and
you subscribe to it, the new message/in use indicator on the base
flashes when there is a message waiting, and
MESSAGE WAITING
shows in the handset and base display. The indicator stops flashing
after the message is reviewed.

If the battery is low, a periodic warning tone will sound from the handset’s
earpiece (receiver) when in TALK mode.
LOW BATTERY, the selected
channel, the call timer, and volume level shows in the display.
NOTE:
If the battery is low, the telephone cannot dial out.

PEAKERPHONE
For best speakerphone performance, avoid the following:
• Areas with high background noise. (The microphone might pick up
these sounds and prevent the speakerphone from going into the
receiving mode when you finish talking.)
• Surfaces affected by vibration.
• Recessed areas such as in a corner, under a cupboard, or next to a
cabinet, which can generate an echo effect.
Note the following guidelines when you use the speakerphone:
• The speakerphone works similar to a two-way radio in that you can only
listen or talk one at a time.
• Stay reasonably close to the phone so that you can be clearly heard by
the person to whom you are speaking.
• The speakerphone indicator is on when the speakerphone is in use.

or anytime during a conversation.
