Product overview

1.1 Introduction

This document provides information for the maintenance and service of the BIS Module, E-BIS. 
BIS and the BIS logo are trademarks of Covidien AG, and are registered in the USA, EU and 
other countries. Later in this document Covidien AG will be referred to as Covidien. The BIS 
measurement is based on electroencephalography (EEG) signals, which are processed as the 
BIS index.
Calculated parameters are:

•

Bispectral Index, BIS

•

Suppression Ratio, SR

•

Electromyograph EMG

•

Signal Quality Index, SQI

The calculated parameters can be selected on the display, and trended (excluding SQI).

The module has two user keys, 

 

for 

BIS

 menu and 

Check Sensor

 for 

impedance check.
