When the boil-dry protection is triggered, remove the kettle from the power base
and empty the kettle. Leave the kettle to cool down (approx. 30 minutes). If required,
descale the kettle (see: ‘Care and Cleaning’). Thereafter, you may fill the kettle again
and start operation.
IMPORTANT -
Ensure to descale the kettle in time.
BEFORE FIRST USE
WARNING

DO NOT let children play with the appliance, or any part
of it, or the packaging!
Do not leave the appliance unattended, when it is in
reach of children younger than 8 years and animals.
1. Unpack the appliance and all accessories carefully. Check that no parts are
damaged or missing (see: ‘Knowing Your Design Kettle Basic’). Carefully remo-
ve all shipping materials and promotional materials. However, do not remove
the model label at the bottom of the power base or kettle.
WARNING
– Always unplug the power base, before cleaning. Do not
immerse the power base, power cord, or kettle in water or other liquids or spill
any liquids on the power base, power cord, or exterior of the kettle.
Do not place
the appliance or any part of it in an automatic dishwasher.
2. Before first use and after a longer period of storage, thoroughly rinse the interior
of the kettle. Then fill the kettle with clear tap water up to the “1700 ml/MAX”
filling line.
3. Ensure that the used power outlet is suited for proper operation (rated for at least
16 A) and let the kettle operate until the automatic shut-off is triggered (see: ‘Ope-
ration’). Discard the water.
