7.0 MACHINE USE
The spreader must be started only outdoors and while the
visibility in the working area is sufficient to see where the
fertilizer is being spread.
It is strictly forbidden to stand or climb on the spreader while it
is hitched to the tractor.
It is strictly forbidden to spread iron pieces, stones, grivel,
glass and similar materials in order not to damage the
spreading discs and the blades.
Do not load wet products into the hopper: the spreader may
get clamped.
For security reasons minors (under 18 ) are not allowed to use
the spreader.
7.1 LOADING
Before loading the hopper, turn off the motor, lower the spreader
to the ground and make sure the shutters are completely closed
to avoid useless waste of product.
The models XPI 1000/1500/1800/2000 are equipped with a
demountable rear extention to make the loading of the hopper
easier.
7.2 SETTING THE FLOW
The fertilizer flow is set by means of an adjusting lever located
near the 3-point-hitch. To increase the flow, pull the lever down
(position a) . To diminish the flow till its complete stop, pull the
lever up (position b).
The handwheel C allows micrometric shifs along the graduated
scale of the selector while both handwheels D clamp the
adjusting lever so that to prevent accidental movements due to
vibrations and collisions.
Accuracy and precisions are thus guaranteed by the flow control
device. Make reference to the charts at the end of the user’s
guide to set the flow in accordance with the desired spreading
width and type of fertilizer.
7.3 SPREADING PATTERNS
Three different spreading patterns are possible by simply moving
sideways the adjusting lever: a 180° full width spreading pattern
and a 90° spreading pattern to the right and to the left.
To get a 90° spreading pattern to the left (Fig.15 Ref.A), move the
lever to the left (position e in Fig.14): in this way the right lower
shutter is closed and the operator can adjust the flow only on the
chosen disc.
To get a 90° spreading pattern to the right (Fig.15 Ref. B), move
the lever to the right (position f in Fig.14).
To get a 180° spreading pattern, move the lever in the central
position, in this way both shutters are opened.
7.4 regulation of fertilizer distribution
It allows both a more precise setting of the working width and a
more uniform spreading by determining exactly the point on the
disc where the fertilizer drops. According to the size of the fertilizer
particles and the desired working width, it is possible to obtain
very low spreading variation coefficients by changing slightly the
positions indicated on the setting devices (see fig.16).
• To vary the spreading width, unscrew the handwheel (A) and
move the graduated scale radially (B).
To increase the spreading width, move the arrow towards the
sign -. To reduce the spreading width, move the arrow towards
the sign +. The spreading and adjusting tables are enclosed at
the end of the user’s guide.
