CONNECTING ROD
Connecting rod foot interior diameter
Measure the connecting rod foot interior diameter
with the small calliper. If the interior diameter of
the connecting rod foot exceeds the service limit,
replace the connecting rod with a new one.

Connecting rod deflection and
connecting rod side space
The connecting rod head wear may be estimated
by checking the movement of the connecting rod
foot. This method may be also used to check the
degree of wear of the connecting rod head parts.

Service limit: 3 mm
Push the connecting rod head to one side and
measure the side space with a thickness gauge.
If the space exceeds the service limit, replace
the crankshaft unit with a new one or correct the
deflection and the side space within the service
limit replacing the worn parts (connecting rod,
connecting rod head bearing, crankshaft bolt,
etc.)
