Valve work surface wear
Visually check if the work surface of each valve
is worn out or damaged.
If abnormal wear is detected, replace the
respective valve with a new one.
Measure the thickness (T) of the valve work
surface. If the thickness is not found within the
specified value replace the valve with a new one.

Valve work surface thickness (T):
Service limit: 0.5 mm (0.02 in)
Valve rod deflection
Remove the valve some 10 mm from the seat.
Measure the rod deflection in two directions, “X”
and “Y”, perpendicular to each other.
Place the cuadrant gauge as shown.
If the deflection surpasses the service limit, replace
the valve or the guide with a new one.
