Inlet Control Valve (Body) Inspection -
The valve does not require maintenance or lubrication. If air/oil
leaks develop across the valve disc during pressurized conditions (e.g., machine stopped), valve seat and
disc should be inspected for wear and tear signs:
1. Be sure the unit is completely off and oil reservoir is depressurized.
2. Disconnect, lockout and tagout power supply to the compressor package.
3. Remove 3-way solenoid valve piped into the feed connection port of actuator.
4. Drain oil trapped within 1st stage compressor via supplied drain valve.
5. Remove valve and actuator from 1st stage compressor inlet flange by loosening all four (4) bolts,
removing top two (2) bolts and spreading the flanges apart. Make sure valve is in (normal)
closed position before removal.
6. Unscrew four (4) fasteners securing pneumatic actuator to valve body and remove.
7. Remove shaft retainers (offset, top and bottom), pull valve shaft out, push valve disc out and
remove valve seat from valve body.
8. Inspect valve seat and disc for wear and tear. Replace, if necessary.
9. Reassemble valve in reverse order. Use a small amount of silicone-based lubricant on shaft,
seat, and disc surfaces to help installation.
