Maintenance and repair
The oil has to be changed after every 8,000 operating hours.
A container is required for collecting the used oil that contains at least the filling volume of the pump (see
chapter 10 “Technical Data” - oil filling capacity)
a) Open the screw of the oil filling point (Fig. 18/H), open the oil discharge point (Fig. 18/K) and completely
discharge the used oil.
b) Close the oil discharge point (Fig. 18/K) and fill in new oil through the oil filling point (Fig. 18/H).
Check the oil level in the sight glasses (Fig. 18/I).
c) Close the screw in the oil filling point (Fig. 18/H).
We recommend Elmo Rietschle oils (also see Oil recommendation plate (Fig. 18/M)) as operating agent:
GEAR-LUBE 150 – Synthetic oil, highly loadable with high resistance to aging and with excellent wear
protection
The viscosity of the oil used must comply with ISO VG 150 as per DIN 3448.
Also consider the safety data sheet of the oil type used.
If you want to change the oil type, please contact us.
7.5 Cleaning of
vacuum pump
Clean the pump every month, if it is strongly polluted, clean it more often.
a) Clean the louvres on the pump and the cooling ribs of the motor by blowing off.
b) After that, wipe the hood including the connected lines, as well as all components, using a wet cloth. In
case of strong pollution, a mild cleaning agent can be used.
NOTICE
Property damage!
Improper cleaning agent can damage the surface.
Ø
Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents.
Ø
Observe the instructions issued by manufacturers of the cleaning agents!
7.6 Air filtering
WARNING
Risk of injuries due to rotating parts!
If the inlet flange has been removed, there will be the risk of injury on rotating
parts when reaching in.
Ø
Before demounting of the inlet flange, disconnect the pump from the power
supply and secure it against accidental restart.
Ø
Do not reach into the pump.
Ø
During disassembly/assembly make sure that no parts fall into the inlet
opening.
CAUTION
Danger of injury when dealing with compressed air!
When the filter is blown off with compressed air, loose solid particles or powder
dust swirling around may cause injury to the eyes. Inhaling can damage lungs.
Ø
Wear protective glasses and dust mask when cleaning the filter with com-
pressed air.
