Line Reactor (VS var) –
A line reactor provides conditioning of the electrical power supply to the
compressor package by attenuating noise and fluctuations. It shall be required in your particular
application if any of the following conditions exist:

Transformer KVA is greater that recommended
– see Fig 2-5
·
Line has switched Power Factor correction capacitors.
·
Existing line reactor is not properly sized
– see Fig 2.5
·
Other large loads share the power feed to the compressor package.

GROUNDING
- Equipment must be grounded in accordance with Section 250 of the National Electrical
Code.
Failure to properly ground the compressor package could result in injury or
death. Install ground wiring in accordance with the National Electrical Code
and any applicable local codes.
MOTOR LUBRICATION
– Long time satisfactory operation of an electric motor depends in large measure
on proper lubrication of the bearings. Refer to Section 11 of this manual for motor lubrication
specifications and details.
