5. Assembly
5.1. Mounting the carrying handle
Insert the carrying handle into the the two holes in the machine body and fi x
it with two of the supplied screws (A).

5.2. Guide bar, upper section
Slide the cable relief (B) onto the upper guide bar.
Join the upper handle bar (5) to the lower handle bar by means of the winged
nuts and bolts ( C ) provided ( Fig. 4)
Use the three supplied cable clips to fi x the cable along the guide bar.
6. Operating the electric raker
6.1. Connection to the mains supply
Plug the tool’s connection cable into the safety switch/plug combination and
secure it with the cable relief.
The loop of the mains cable must be long enough for the cable relief to slide
from one side of the guide bar to the other.
6.2. Switching the tool on
This Machine is provided with an electric safety switch against accidental
starts. Push the safety lock-off button ( 1 ) on the switchbox, then pull the
switch lever towards the handle .
The top handle is equipped with a hooked ring (B) which holds the exten-
sion cable. Hook the cable to protect socket and plug from accidental tears .
6.3. Heigth adjustment
This machine can be operated with three diff erent working heights: + 4, + 8
and +12 mm . To adjust the height, please draw and turn the knob ( picture 1,
position 8 ) to the required position.
7.Tips
We recommend the directional method of operation to obtain the
maximum cutting performance from your unit and to reduce the risk
of the trailing the extension lead from entering the cutting path.
•
Place the bulk of the supply cable on the lawn close to the starting
point (position 1, Fig. 7.1).
•
Hold the handle assembly with both hands.
WARNING: Do not attempt to operate your Machine with one hand - you must
guide it with both hands. Do not operate your machine on sanded, conc-
rete or woodened ground.
•
Tilt the handle downwards to slightly raise the front of your unit and
to reduce the risk of lawn damage while starting, depress the safety
lock-off button (5) on the switchbox and while still depressed pull the
switch lever towards you. Your machine will start and you can now
allow the lock-off button to be released and lower your Machine to its
proper cutting position, and commence cutting.
Proceed down the cutting area as shown in Fig. 7.1, working from position
1 towards position 2 and, on reaching position 2, turn to the right and pro-
