 SAFETY  INFORMATION

ALWAYS PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE DOING WHILE LIGHTING THE ITEM.

•

DO NOT PUT FIRE OUT WITH WATER – THIS WILL CRACK THE CHIMENEA.

•

Do not use the item to cook food. This will cause fat oil to drip onto the clay and be

•

Use only in well-ventilated areas.  Do not use in buildings, garages, sheds, breezeways or

other such enclosures.

THIS CHIMENEA IS FOR OUTDOOR USE ONLY.

•

Keep the area surrounding the item free from combustible materials, trash, or combustible

fluids and vapors such as gasoline or lighter fluid.  Do not obstruct the flow of combustion

and ventilation air.  If the unit is stored indoors, ensure it is cool.

•

(oceanfront, mountain top, etc.), a windbreak will be required.

Before Lighting

•

Inspect and clear the area around chimenea (A) of combustible materials.

•

Be sure to check that chimenea (A) is dry.  If wet, the fire will expand and crack chimenea (A).

Consider using lava rock (not included) or another material that does not retain moisture

in the base of the chimenea (A).

•

Always keep your face and body as far from the chimenea (A) as possible when lighting.

To Light

•

Use wood kindling and/ or paper when lighting chimenea (A).  NEVER use combustible fluids,

lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene or any other combustible material to start the fire.

•

VERY IMPORTANT:  Build the fire in the chimenea (A) slowly.  This will allow the clay to

expand slowly and, therefore, not crack.  This process may take 15 minutes or more.

•

Never build a fire so big that flames come out of the mouth or top of the chimenea (A), as

this will overheat the chimenea (A) and cause it to crack.
