Inspection of Cylinder head:
In hydraulic lifts the cylinder head must be checked for leaks at every maintenance
inspection. Al though rare, hydraulic oil leaks are serious and must be corrected as
soon as possible. Do not leave a lift with a leaking hydraulic system in operation.
If the head is leaking, the seals may be replaced. Contact Garaventa Technical Support
for parts and advice.
Inspection of the Chain Sprocket:
In Chained Hydraulic lifts, the sprocket allows the chain to run over the ram as the lift
operates. It is important to check this area for smooth operation. Any movement of the
sprocket other than rotational, must be investigated. If you find worn bushings or any
other damage, it must be corrected.
Check that the
sprockets turm
smoothly and without
lateral movement.
