General Lift Maintenance
It is the lift owners’ responsibility to ensure that their lift is inspected and maintained at
regular intervals. As the installer and the representative of your company, you can
assist the owner in accomplishing this by explaining the importance of regular
maintenance and setting up a scheduled inspection.
We recommend that you start your maintenance cycle a maximum of six months after a
new installation. Change the grease canister during your first maintenance visit. Set the
dispenser to the appropriate setting depending upon the frequency of use. Note that if
you set the dispenser to the six-month setting, you must schedule another maintenance
visit in six months.
The back of this manual contains the Preventive Maintenance Inspection checklists.
There is one version each for Screw Drive and Hydraulic Drive. Photocopy the forms
and use them as a guide when performing a maintenance inspection.
Along with the suggested maintenance in the Preventive Maintenance Inspection
checklist, there are several other important items to check. Refer to the details in this
manual for maintenance of the Genesis Lead screw and Hydraulic lifts.
If the lift is to be taken out of service for an extended period of time, run it out of the
landing. This will prevent the emergency batteries from being drained.
Instruct the lift owner to notify you if they discover anything that might indicate a
problem with the lift. Any new vibration or noise must be reported immediately.
