PTZ Configuration and AutoTracking

Zoom speed
Camera zoom speed (percentage of maximum camera zoom speed) for both zoom in and
out, normalized as a percentage (0-100%). Controls how fast the camera zooms in and out.
Where the camera only supports a fixed zoom speed, this value needs to be set to anything
other than 0. If no zooming in/out is required, set this value to 0.
Zoom time gain
Gain factor that controls how long to zoom in/out for. The default value for this parameter is
1. It is not recommended to use a value larger than 5.
Tip
: If the camera zooms in too far, try decreasing this value. If it doesn't zoom far enough,
try increasing it.
Support absolute positioning
Check this box if the camera supports moving to an absolute position (e.g. P,T,Z).
From an API perspective, this box should be checked if the API command
apantiltzoommove
is supported.
If the camera supports absolute positioning, then the initial target lock-on phase can be
faster since the camera moves directly to the estimated absolute position (P,T,Z) instead of
zooming in gradually.
Maximum optical zoom value
Specifies the maximum optical zoom value for the camera (e.g. 36 for a 36x optical zoom
camera). This parameter only has an effect when absolute positioning is enabled. Please
refer to the camera specification.
Camera movement latency
The time delay (in milliseconds) that it takes from issuing a PTZ command for the camera to
complete that command. The default value is 500ms.
Minimum time between two PTZ commands
The minimum time (in milliseconds) between two adjacent PTZ commands. This depends on
both the PTZ protocol and the zoom module. For example, for Pelco Spectra IV SE using
pelco-d protocol, this value needs to be larger than 300ms.
Tip
: If PTZ commands appear to go missing (i.e ignored), try increasing this value.
Start-up commands
Any commands that should be executed on startup (e.g. to disable digital zoom). They
should be specified according to the HTTP API syntax for either
ptz2.fcgi
or
serial2.fcgi
.
Example
: The following HTTP-API comands will perform the function (stop the PTZ camera
moving) for a camera that is configured to use the Pelco-D protocol.
ptz2.fcgi?apantiltzoommove=0,0,0
