1.5.3
Current measurement
CAUTION:
Before measuring resistance, make sure that the circuit under
test is deenergized and all capacitors are fully discharged!
1.
Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to
the INPUT jack (NOTE: the polarity of the red test lead is positive "+").
2.
Set the function switch to
and press Select to select the Ω function.
3.
Use Range to select automatic or manual range selection.
4.
If you choose manual, kΩ should be selected with Range.
5.
Connect the test leads to the load to be measured.
6.
Read the measured value on the LCD display.
NOTES:
For resistance measurements >1MΩ, it may take a few seconds
for the reading to stabilize. This is normal for high resistance
measurements.
When no test lead is connected, i.e. when the circuit is open,
the overflow symbol OL is displayed as an overrange indicator.
1.5.4
Continuity Test
1.
Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red one to the
INPUT jack (note: the polarity of the red test lead is positive "+").
2.
Set the function switch to
and press Select to select the continuity
test mode; the symbol
must be displayed.
3.
Connect the test leads to the load to be measured.
4.
If the measured resistance is <30Ω, then a beep is heard.
1.5.5
Diode testing
1.
connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red one to the
INPUT jack (note: the polarity of the red test lead is positive "+").
2.
Set the function switch to
and press Select to select the diode test
mode; the symbol
must be displayed.
3.
Connect the red test lead to the anode of the diode under test and the
black test lead to the cathode.
4.
The meter displays the approximate forward voltage of the diode. If the
connections are reversed, OL will be shown on the display.
