CHAPTER 3. START-UP. ADJUSTMENT AND OPERATION CONTROLS.
This equipment will be started up and operated as shown below (see Fig. 1).
Figure 1. Operating controls of the MOTO GAR equipment.
OPERATING MODE AS WELDING GROUP.
Control (2) must be entered. The welding current will be regulated with control (1). This control includes a
dial that will enable you to decide on the correct value for each welding job.
OPERATING MODE AS A GENERATING SET.
THREE-PHASE AT 380 V – SINGLE-PHASE 220 V.
Welding control (1) will be set at maximum and the generator control (2) will be turned to the relative
position marked on the dial. This operation will be carried out by pulling the generator control outwards. To
return to welding, this operation will be carried out in reverse order.
The machine has an earth terminal (3). It is advisable to connect this to a good earth tap. The neutral
terminal (4) can be used to obtain 220 V with the 380 V three-phase base. This connection is preferable
when several 200 V machines have to be connected and the total power is similar to that given by the
Motogar. If you proceed as indicated in figure 1A, the voltage drops will be less and the machines connected
to the Motogar will work better, too.
The machine will be started up as follows (control (2) in welding position):
- Turn the petrol input valve to ON.
- Close the throttling lever CLOSE (if the environment temperature is cold).
- Turn the starter to ON position.
- Pull the manual starter out until the machine starts up.
- Slowly open the starter once the machine is hot. It is better for the machine not to be too accelerated.
To start the machine up, we recommend following the instructions given in the Honda manual.
