Symptom
Action
Audio communication is
functioning properly, but page
line ground-fault detector
output is not functioning
properly
•
Verify that only one ground-fault detector is connected to the
page line interface of the Line Extender.
•
If the Line Extender’s page line ground-fault detector is being
used, then verify that pins 2 and 3 of
J13
are shorted (Page
Ground Fault Detect Enabled).
•
Verify that the page line ground-fault detector output is being
utilized as indicated in Figure 3.
•
Verify that the polarity of the page line ground-fault detector
output is observed.
Audio communication is
functioning properly, but party
line off-hook signaling is not
functioning properly at one or
more party line interface(s)
utilizing this feature
•
Verify that the party line bias select and party line off-hook detect
gain select jumpers are set properly for the party line interface(s)
in question. Refer to the
Hardware Configuration
section on
page 6 for further details.
•
Verify that no external resistive line balances exist at the party
line interface(s) in question. Refer to the
Hardware
Configuration
section on page 6 for further details.
