For optimal results, press the steam
buttons (1) and (3) at intervals to
optimize steam emission and to
allow the ironed fabric to dry
.
Warning: The appliance produces
a large amount of steam. Never aim
the steam jet at yourself or at other
persons, animals or delicate mate-
rials.
• Exercise extreme caution when using
the toe steam jet button (

).
• To adjust the steam output to suit
fabric type (according to delicacy)
rotate the steam knob (

) counter-
clockwise (increase) or clockwise
(decrease) (Fig. 4).
• The appliance comes equipped with
an iron rest (

) made of temperature
resistant material which can be
placed on any surface.
Dry tank/refilling
An empty tank indicator (

) lights up
if the boiler is dry.
To refill the tank:
• Turn the switch (

) to the position
1
(on the iron).
• Press the steam button (
1
) to expel
the remaining steam from the boiler.
• Turn the switch (
10
) to the position 0.
• Unplug the appliance from the elec-
trical outlet.
• Wait 3-4 minutes to allow the boiler
to cool.
• Refill the tank as described in the
section FILLING THE BOILER.
• When refilling a hot boiler, add small
amounts of water gradually to avoid
instantaneous water vaporization
and spitting.
Dry ironing
• To iron without steam simply turn the
switch to position 1.
• Turn the iron temperature control
knob (

) to the desired temperature.
• Wait until the temperature light (

)
goes off. Proceed with ironing with-
out pressing the steam button (
1
)
since no steam is produced.
CLEANING
AND MAINTENANCE
• Unplug the appliance from the elec-
trical outlet before carrying out any
maintenance.
• To clean the appliance, use only a
moist cloth. Do not use detergents
or solvents as they may damage the
surface of the plastic.
WARNINGS
• Should a malfunction occur, never
attempt to repair the unit by disas-
sembling it. Take it to an authorized
Gaggia service center.
• For replacement of the power cord
or combination hose take the unit to
an authorized Gaggia service center.
• Use only original Gaggia replace-
ment parts.
• It is recommended that you keep the
original packaging for future trans-
port needs.
• If the unit is to be disposed of, cut
the power cord to render it unusable
and deliver it to a proper waste han-
dling facility.
