INSTALLING THE BATTERY PACK
Warning!
Always remove battery pack from your tool
when you are assembling parts, making adjustments,
cleaning, carrying, transporting or when not in use.
Removing battery pack will prevent accidental starting
that could cause serious personal injury.
NOTE: To avoid serious personal injury, always
remove the battery pack and keep hands clear of the
lock-out button when carrying or transporting the tool.
Turn the auxiliary handle so it is out of the way of the
tool base. Slide the battery pack into the tool base,
Fig.3. (Note the battery has raised ribs which allows it
to fit into the pole saw only one way). Make sure the
battery pack snaps into place and that battery pack is
secured in the tool before beginning operation.
Improper installation of the battery pack can cause
damage to internal components.
REMOVING THE BATTERY PACK
Turn the auxiliary handle so it is out of the way of the
tool base. Locate the battery release catch on the top
of the battery and press downwards, Fig.4. Whilst
holding down the battery release catch slide the
battery pack away from the tool.
FITTING SDS BITS
Different drill bits can be used with this product
depending on the workpiece material and application
required.
Warning!
Always use drill bits according to the
intended use. For example, never use a drill bit
intended for working on wood for working on stone or
vice versa.
Observe the technical requirements of this product
(see section “Technical specification”) when
purchasing and using drill bits.
Some drill bits are very sharp and become hot during
use.
Handle them carefully. Wear protective gloves when
handling cuts.
INSERTING SDS BITS
Apply a thin coating of grease to the splined drive
system (SDS) shank of the drill bit.
Insert the bit into the tool. Turn the bit and push it in
until it engages, Fig.5.
After installing, always make sure that the bit is
securely held in place by trying to pull it out.
REMOVING SDS BITS
Pull the chuck sleeve backwards and remove the SDS
drill bit, Fig.6.
Insert a new one as described above, if desired.
WOOD AND METAL DRILL BITS
Warning!
Do not use a keyed drill chuck for hammer
drilling or chiselling applications! It is intended
exclusively for drilling with drill bits for wood and
metal.

: A keyed drill chuck allows normal bits (non SDS
type) to be used with the product.
