will run through program 1-10.
Press the Run-button and the display will show RUN.
Press the Enter-button. The projector runs through the current sequence, and RUN and the current program will
flash in the display.
4.7 Switching the device off
Press the Program-button in order to stop the program. Press the Mode-button in order to set the device in
blackout-mode. Hold the Function-button (the display shows OFF) and press the Enter-button. The device switches
off and is in stand-by mode.
CAUTION:
If operation periods have been programmed and if the device should start automatically, it is
absolutely essential that the Power-switch is set to ON. The device must remain in standby-mode.
If the device is to be taken out of operation for a longer period of time, the power switch is to be set to OFF and the
device is to be disconnected. The internal battery backup will store the settings for up to two years.
5. Operation via a DMX-controller
5.1 DMX-512 connection
Your Promotion Scan offers the possibility of external programming via a DMX-controller. You can use every
standard DMX-controller for 8 or 11 DMX-channels, respectively.
Please note that you have to adjust the operational settings on the projector head. In particular, you have to
consider whether you want to run the projector in the 8-bit-mode (8 control channels) or in the 16-bit-mode (11
control channels). You can then install the scanner and program via your DMX-controller.
Connect the controller with the projector using a stereo shielded cable and 3-pin XLR-connectors.
In order to connect the controller, you have to adjust the starting address of the PS/D-200 via the mode Setting the
DMX starting address. Please refer to the explanations under Setup.
5.2 Programming via the DMX-controller
After you switched the device on, you have to carry out a reset. In order to do so, adjust control channel 6 to the
DMX-value 244-247 and the lamp will trigger. The display shows DMX and the scanner is ready for use. Now you
can adjust the settings via your DMX-controller.
The programmed settings are externally stored in your controller. In addition to the externally stored settings, you
can call up the 10 internal programs via your controller (control channel 6).
Additional functions via DMX
Your Promotion Scan offers the possibility to control some additional functions via DMX. These functions can be
found in the table Channel 6: Dimmer/Shutter/Strobe.
REMARK:
Make sure that you set the controller in blackout-mode in order to avoid that the lamp will be
switched off etc if the DMX-values 240-251 are selected.
Enable external DMX-control
If operational periods have been programmed and the programmed sequence is run through, you have the oppor-
tunity to cancel the program-run and to control the device manually.
How to proceed:
Set channel 6 to the DMX-values 244-247. The scanner will reset and the display shows DMX and RESET.
REMARK:
Adjust channel 6 to a different DMX-value in order to avoid that the device will continuously reset.
After the device has finished the reset, it can be controlled via the controller.
Disable external DMX-control
Set channel 6 to the DMX-values 248 - 249. The display shows DMX and OFF. The device will change to red and
the shutter is half-open.
The device will start the sequence, if the operating period is still ON. Otherwise, the device will go into blackout-
mode.
Switching off the lamp
In order to protect the lamp, you can switch it off with this function. Set channel 6 to the DMX-values 250 - 251.
