2. Pull the slider to the back, place the button on it
and push the slider to the button so that the
buttonhole will have the correct length.

Always sew a test buttonhole and push the button
through it to check the length of the buttonhole.
Should the button not fit easily through the
buttonhole, pull the slider a little to the back to
make the buttonhole a little longer. This is most
often necessary for thicker buttons.
3. Pull the buttonhole lever down. The buttonhole
lever makes sure that the buttonhole will have the
correct length by changing the sewing direction
when the rows of the buttonhole have the right
length.

4. Pull both threads to the left and hold them while
lowering the needle onto the starting point of the
buttonhole

. Lower the presser foot and make
sure that there is no gap between the presser foot
and the slider or the rows of the buttonhole will
not have the same length.
