To finish the seam without locking it stop the machine
and raise the needle and the presser foot. Pull the
fabric towards the back and cut the threads with the
thread cutter

. This way the threads will have the
correct length for the next seam.
To lock the end of the seam sew a few stitches
backwards by pressing the reverse key

. Then sew
a few stitches forwards before cutting the threads.
When stitch pattern is selected the ends of the
seam are automatically locked. At the beginning of the
seam four reverse stitches are automatically sewn to
lock the beginning of the seam. Press the reverse key
once at the end of the seam and the machine will sew
four reverse stitches and four forward stitches.

STARTING TO SEW
1. Raise the needle and select the desired stitch
pattern.
2. Raise the presser foot and place the fabric next to
one of the seam allowance lines on the needle
plate or the hook cover plate.
3. Hold both threads with one hand and lower the
needle.
4. Lower the presser foot and depress the foot
controller without letting go of the threads.
5. Sew a few stitches and then let go of the threads.
6. Guide the fabric lightly along the seam allowance
line without pulling the fabric, which would cause
the needle to break.
