Calibration

Furness Controls recommend that all pressure transmitters and flow devices are recalibrated
annually. For critical applications, it is advisable to check the calibration more frequently.

All calibration adjustments of 400 series pressure transmitters are performed through a PC using
the FCS541 Utility software/cable or using the optional keypad.

Separate functions allow for independent adjustment of the minimum and maximum output,
instrument gain and digital zero offset adjustment.
The instruments can be recalibrated provided suitable equipment is available. The basic
requirements are:

Pressure calibrator, such as the Furness Controls FCO560, FCO550 or FRS4

 Accurate voltage or current meter

 Suitable power supply

Furness Controls can provide instruments to fulfil all these functions.
Furness Controls offer a full recalibration and UKAS certification service.

Recalibration using Keypad

Check the minimum and maximum signal output levels by:

 Using the

 or

 buttons to select

TEST

, to enter menu press

 Select

MIN

 for the minimum output

 Select

MAX

 for the maximum output

NOTE:  Pressing the

button between tests will return the display to

TEST resulting in a false output reading.

If the output levels are incorrect

Enter Calibration Mode by holding down the

 and

 keys and reset the supply.

Set the minimum output level:

 Using the

 or

 buttons select

DAC LO

, to enter menu press

 Adjust the value using the

 or

 buttons

 Press when

 set

 Press the

 to exit the menu

Set the maximum output level:

 Using the

 or

 buttons select

DAC HI

, to enter menu press

 Adjust the value using the

 or

 buttons

 Press

 when set

 Press the

 to exit the menu

Gain Adjustment

If not already in Calibration Mode, hold down the

 and

 keys, and reset the supply.

 Using the

 or

 buttons select

GAIN

, to enter menu press

 Adjust the value using the

 or

 buttons to adjust any error

 Press

 when set

 Press the

 to exit the menu

Linearity and Temperature Compensation Adjustment

Linearity and temperature compensation adjustments should only be carried out at Furness
Controls, return to your supplier.
