Storing the Equipment
Store in a place where the equipment will not be exposed to splashing water.
Store in a place where the equipment will not be adversely affected by atmospheric pressure,
temperature, humidity, ventilation, sunlight, dust or atmosphere containing salt or sulfur.
Place the equipment on a stable surface where there is no inclination, vibration, or shock
(including during transportation).
The following environmental conditions should be observed when storing the equipment.
Storage Temperature: –10 to 60
C
Storage Humidity: 10 to 95% (at 60
C)
Storage Atmospheric Pressure: 700 to 1060hPa
Cleaning the Housing
Clean the housing using tightly squeezed gauze or an absorbent cotton cloth dampened with
alcohol or a neutral cleanser.
C A U T I O N
Clean the equipment frequently so stains can be removed easily.
To prevent injury, it is recommended to wear gloves when cleaning the
equipment.
Do not allow liquids or cleaning solution to enter the equipment or
connectors.
Do not use organic solvents, thinner, toluene and benzene to avoid
damaging the resin case.
Do not polish the housing with abrasive or chemical cleaner.
When sterilizing the entire room using a spray solution, pay close
attention not to have liquids get into the equipment or connectors.
Use only neutral detergent to clean the housing. Do not use chemical
cloth, scrub brush, abrasive, polishing powder, hot water, volatile solvent
and chemicals (cleanser, thinner, toluene, benzine, benzol, and synthetic
detergent for house and furniture), or sharp-edged tools. The surface resin
coating may be damaged, resulting in discoloration, scratches, and other
problems.
Cleaning and Disinfecting the BISx Module
Clean any spillage of blood or solutions on BISx as soon as possible.
Use lint-free absorbent towels for spill cleanups.
Dampen the towel with detergent and lukewarm water to aid in cleaning.
After cleaning, wipe the PIC (patient interface cable) connector ends with alcohol and allow to
dry completely
Residual moisture inside the connector may affect BISx performance.
Use lint-free absorbent towels dampened with a 10% bleach solution, or a commercial
disinfectant.
W A R N I N G
Clean the equipment frequently so stains can be removed easily.
Universal Precautions shall be observed to prevent contact with blood or
other potentially infectious materials.
Place contaminated materials in regulated waste container.
Whenever an event such as spillage of blood or solutions occurs, re-test
leakage current before further use.
Do not mix disinfecting solutions (e.g., bleach and ammonia) as
hazardous gases may result.
C A U T I O N
Do not autoclave the BISx Module or HBX-800. Autoclaving will seriously
damage both components.
Avoid liquid ingress to the patient interface cable. Contact of fluids with the
PIC sensor connectors can interfere with PIC performance.
