2.2 Installation of the switch

This section describes how to install the switch.

2.2.1

Decide Switch Access Configuration

The switch is specifically designed for rack-mounting.

The XG0440DC is used as an example.

The front and back direction of the rack mounting brackets attached to the side of the switch is reversed for the XG0440DC
and XG0440DCR.

The XG0440DC is mounted in a rack so that the port side of the switch is located at the front.

The XG0440DCR is mounted in a rack so that the power inlet side of the switch is located at the front.

Decide positions for rack mounting brackets

Decide positions of rack mounting brackets.

The switch can be installed flush to or offset from the front of the rack. To offset mount the switch move the position of the
rack mounting forward fro the face of the switch.
