Installing/Removing the Server into the Rack

Mounting in the Classic Rack
For mounting the server in the Classic (19-inch) Rack the following parts are
necessary:
–
two telescopic rails, telescopic bars and support rails
–
two mounting brackets
–
two cable support plates and cable holders
–
eight mounting springs (figure 5 on page 30)
–
four fitting brackets
Ê
Refer to the assembly instructions in the Technical Manual for the Classic
(19-inch) Rack (see “Related publications” on page 57).
Ê
Mark the position of the attachment points for the telescopic rails and for the
server (front panel) on the support uprights (one height unit).
Ê
Place the spring nuts to fasten the telescopic rails in the groove of the
support uprights at the marked attachment points.
Ê
If necessary, adjust the position of the nuts in the groove until they lock into
the correct position.
Ê
Place on both ends of the telescopic rails one fitting bracket. Please note
that the holes (1) must fit onto the guide nubs (2) of the telescopic rails (see
figure 7 on page 32).
