This product contains a light emitting diode, classi fi cation according to IEC 60825
1:2007: LASER CLASS 1, and must therefore not be opened.
Handling optical disks
Handling
Observe the following guidelines when handling optical disks:
• Avoid touching the surface of an optical disk. Only handle optical disks by their edges.
• Always store optical disks in their cases. This will protect the optical disk against
being covered in dust, scratched or damaged in any other way.
• Protect your optical disks against dust, mechanical vibrations and direct sunlight.
• Avoid storing an optical disk in areas subject to high temperatures or humidity.
You may use both 3.15 and 4.7-inch optical disks in the optical drive.
When using an optical disk of lesser quality, vibrations and reading errors may occur.
CD/DVD indicator
CD/DVDindicator
The CD/DVD indicator fl ashes when an optical disk is inserted. The indicator goes out when
the drive is ready for reading. The indicator lights up when the drive is being accessed.
You may only remove the optical disk when the indicator is unlit.
If the CD/DVD indicator does not go out after an optical disk has been inserted, but
instead continues to
fl ash, this means that the drive cannot access the optical disk.
Either the optical disk is damaged or dirty or you are using an optical
disk that the drive cannot read.
