Troubleshooting

"E" (or other numbers/letters) is already
displayed on the Function Number Display after
power-on.

Does the problem persist after turning the power off then
back on?

The scanner is operating correctly.

Yes

Is "c" flashing on the Function Number Display, and is the
Check LED flashing as well?

Yes

Close the ADF properly.
For details, refer to

"How to Close the ADF" (page 19)

If the display does not return to ready ("1") after closing the ADF, check the items
in

"8.4 Before You Contact the Scanner Service Provider" (page 121)

first, then

contact your FUJITSU scanner dealer or an authorized FUJITSU scanner service
provider.

Is "h" displayed on the Function Number Display during
scanning?

Yes

There is no problem. The scanner is operating in protection mode. It will return to
normal when you continue scanning. Note that the interval to feed the documents
becomes longer in protection mode.

If the problem persists, check the items in

"8.4 Before You Contact the Scanner

Service Provider" (page 121)

first, then contact your FUJITSU scanner dealer or

an authorized FUJITSU scanner service provider.
