Settings in the BIOS Setup
In
BIOS Setup
you can set the system functions and the hardware configuration of the device. The
settings can only be changed via the keyboard.
When it is supplied, the device is set to factory default settings. You can change these settings in
BIOS Setup
. Any changes you make take effect as soon as you save and quit the
BIOS Setup
.
The main options in
BIOS Setup
are described in brief below:
Option Description
Standard CMOS
Feature
:
for system settings such as time, date, hard disks and BIOS version indicator.
Advanced BIOS
Feature:
for configuring the boot sequence. Three devices can be defined in the boot
sequence (First Boot Device, Second Boot Device, Third Boot Device). Only
these devices can be booted using the boot menu.
Advanced Chipset
Features
:
for information on the chipset.
Power
Management Setup:
for power management settings.
SATA mode (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment):
You can choose between
AHCI
(Advanced Host Controller Interface) and
IDE
(Integrated Drive Electronics). The operating system only supports the mode in
which the hard disk was installed. If the mode is altered without re-installing the
operating system, the hard disk will no longer be recognised by the operating
system and an error message will be displayed.
Load Setup
Defaults:
to restore factory settings.
Set Password
: for password settings and safety functions.
Save & Exit Setup
: to exit the
BIOS Setup.
The current settings are saved.
Exit without
Saving:
to exit the
BIOS Setup.
The current settings are not saved.
The following function keys can also be used:
